Are you an Ayurveda Practitioner longing to specialise and deepen your knowledge?
Then join us on this professional development training in our Ayurveda ‘bijscholingen’ series, designed for qualified Ayurveda practitioners and Ayurveda therapists who wish to expand their understanding of integrative cancer care.
The science of Ayurveda provides an additional dimension to the curative aspects of allopathic cancer care. In Ayurvedic texts there are clinical similarities with conditions described as Arbuda, Granthi, Gandamala, and Gulma, as referenced in the Sushruta Samhita and Ashtanga Hridaya.
Led by Vaidya Sayali Kendarkar and with a contribution by Liese van Dam, this training bridges classical Ayurvedic wisdom with practical clinical application.
Focus
During this training, the focus will be on two of the most commonly diagnosed cancers worldwide: breast and prostate cancer.
Three critical phases of cancer management will be addressed:
1. Pre-operative and pre-treatment preparation
Strengthen Agni, reduce ama, balance doshas and build Ojas prior to surgery or conventional treatments. Explore dietary, lifestyle and herbal strategies (Ahara, Vihara, Dravyaguna) to optimise client resilience. Support and strengthen the Mano vaha srotas with supplements and treatments to support the person through conventional treatments.
2. During conventional treatments and immediate post-operative care
Being able to give gentle Ayurvedic support to a client going through chemotherapy, radiotherapy or post-surgery recovery. Focus on nourishment, tissue regeneration and emotional support.
3. Long-term care and recurrence prevention
Use Rasayana therapies, rejuvenating diet and lifestyle practices to restore vitality, strengthen Dhatus and maintain hormonal and immune balance. Pancha karma treatments for deep tissue cleansing like virechana and basti and external treatments like for example nabhi basti.
