Hi, I am Liese
I am a three times certified Ayurveda Practitioner, a Sivananda hatha yoga teacher specialized in Birthlight Perinatal and Well Woman Yoga and Abdominal Therapist in the lineage of Dr. Rosita Arvigo.
I have been teaching yoga for 25 years, including pre- and postnatal, baby yoga and well woman yoga and various Ayurveda topics for 15 years. My journey into women's health began with a deep desire to heal and balance my own menstrual challenges. Along the way I discovered the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, Yoga and Abdominal Therapy. Each one of these gave me a deeper understanding of myself and how to help myself create more balance in my life and in my body-mind system. The teachings I've learned to integrate into my own life, and which I've shared with clients and students for the past 25 years, have impacted the lives of many people around the world. The most important factor in using the wisdom of Ayurveda is to address the root cause of what's really going on in the body and mind, rather than just treating the symptoms. I truly believe that the foundation for healing any imbalance in the body and mind lies in an approach that addresses each woman's unique physiology.
Stepping into one's own power and wisdom is essential to regaining, reclaiming and maintaining vital health at any age.
This course has grown out of several years of teaching Ayurveda modules within the Birthlight Well Woman Yoga trainings, where it was met with enthusiasm and requests for more. What has now taken shape is a comprehensive course that covers the full cycle of women’s health — from menarche to menopause.
My motto is 'Ancient Wisdom made Practical for you'. The ancient teaching of Ayurveda will work miracles when you really learn to integrate advices in your own personal life in a modern world.

I can promiss you that in this extensive training you will learn many things which you will be able to integrate and apply directly into your work as a yoga teacher or therapist. But I also like to be honest; you will not learn 'everything about Ayurveda'. Ayurveda is a vast science which describes the world in its complete depth. To master it requires many years of intense study, if not a lifetime!
What you will not learn:
Learning to diagnose disease or deep-seated issues
Learning to treat disease or deep-seated issues
Working with herbal medicine and supplements (Dravya Guna)
Ayurvedic bodywork & treatments
To become an Ayurveda therapist, practitioner or doctor
Pulse reading
Coaching skills or therapeutic skills
To teach yoga
There is no need to practice yoga. Ayurveda is a sister science of Yoga and shares much of the same philosophy. However, this course does not focus on yoga postures or yoga breath work, but on Ayurveda anatomy & physiology and nutrition, lifestyle and kitchen remedies to support women's reproductive cycles. This knowledge can be integrated into your personal life or work as a therapist. The course is developed with yoga teachers and therapists of various backgrounds in mind, and during the course a few yoga practices relating to the topic will be shared and references will be made on how to integrate the Ayurvedic perspectiveo n Women's health into your work as a yoga teacher or therapy session.
Yes, absolutely!
